The Role:
- Focal point for all matters related to the regional equipment fleet: pumps, junk catchers, hoses, mud gas separators, rotating circulation devices (RCD’s), hydraulic power units, running and cleanup tools and ancillary equipment.
- To provide regional coordination with Global R&D on related equipment matters.
- To become fully conversant with the revision history and status of the equipment fleet and ancillary mechanical & hydraulic equipment.
- Maintain status records
- Maintain status database on all aspects of equipment fleet: certification, regional operation regulations (CE, ATEX, Norsok etc)
- Maintain status database on all aspects of equipment (certification, revision status and applicability to market segments)
- Maintain improvement register based on feedback from field operations (EOWR, setbacks, experiences and suggestions from operators etc).
- Provide Onsite & Offsite troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Job Support to include but not limited to: mechanical, hydraulic functionality, revision changes, regional regulatory issue compatibility issues.
- Take part in development and launch of rotating circulation device (RCD) maintenance and repair facility in Aberdeen.
- Take an active role in managing any changes to the equipment fleet and be the focal point for any new product development (auxiliary pump, process equipment)
- Deliver specialized equipment training as required.
- Contribute to job planning by anticipating any unusual rig up or specific equipment requirements during preliminary engineering stage
- Identify all RCD, mechanical and hydraulic equipment design and inspection requirements
- Give technical input for the preparation of purchase standards, levels of certification suitable for entry in JDE management system for RCD, mechanical or hydraulic equipment
- Identify all EU directives/legislative requirements for mechanical/process and RCD equipment
- Work closely with workshop maintenance team to develop maintenance and inspection procedures for both workshop and field for mechanical /process and RCD equipment
- Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- 4-5 years equipment design experience, preferably with oilfield equipment and or process equipment
- Field operations experience
- Good grasp of mechanical and hydraulic equipment and manufacturing processes and design
- General drilling, completions or rig equipment knowledge.
- Good understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems and pumps, process equipment and good grounding in mechanical equipment design

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Mechanical Hydraulic design, maintenance, operations, or process background
- Technical Degree (mechanical, petroleum, process engineering)
- Experience of dealing with vendors and sub contractors
- Contracts and procurement knowledge
- Experience of quality systems & external bodies certification/ approval standards
