The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
The main responsibilities of the Estimator:

• Development of estimations within the respective project phase.
• Execute various types of estimates from conceptual estimates for proposals and early conceptual studies, to detailed estimates for ongoing projects.
• Review project documents to determine scope of work.
• Conduct and participate in the bid kickoff, site walks and final review meetings
• Support bid schedule and project execution plan creation
• Review and analyze job actual costing vs. bid and appropriately modify estimate library for future bids.
• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work.
• Perform complete takeoff of scope of work. (Multi Discipline Projects)
• Review design options and recommend best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The Estimator will have previous experience:
• Minimum 4 years of experience in an Estimating role
• Knowledge of industrial construction within field
• Experience in a multi-discipline function, preferably with electrical and piping estimation knowledge
• Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivity tool such as: MS Office, Adobe Reader, Excel
