The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company responsible for the Construction, Ownership and Operation of it's own Plants.

The Role:
Job Purpose:
Shares with the EH&S Specialist and Superintendent the responsibility for the implementation of the EH&S management system (work processes, standards, procedures) in order to meet EH&S objectives and to maintain the license to operate. Provides hands-on Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Health & Safety and Reactive Chemicals activities for a specific facility.

Dimensions:
The incumbent is accountable for executing EH&S management system within his unit (s), ensuring EH&S compliance of unit facilities valued in excess of one billion dollars.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Implements detailed, task level, day-to-day EH&S (Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Safety & Reactive Chemicals, Health Services) programs, utilizing the EH&S work process, standards and procedures.
• Ensures that the environmental, IH, Health & Safety and Reactive chemical aspects of Operating Discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals.
• Acts as the plant resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards. Plant contact for environmental, IH, Health, Safety, reactive chemical issues. Coaches teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks and activities.
• Assists in developing and achieving area or plant EH&S goals.
• Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
• Performs / coordinates certain environmental, IH and reactive chemical monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.
• As required, participates in the environmental, I/H, Health, Safety and reactive chemical related reviews and projects.
• Conducts assessments and audits in the EH&S related areas.
• As required, conducts and documents investigations of incidents and ensures follow up actions to prevent re-occurrences that are addressed.

Job Context:
• Interfaces with envelope production leaders and EH&S leaders and specialists.
• Advises Manufacturing management on EH&S performance and compliance related matters on his unit/envelope.
• Continuously assesses facilities’ operations and maintenance on EH&S performance and compliance.
• Interfaces with other organizations and provides input on EH&S related issues to be provided to government agencies through the responsible
• Provides support to various organizations during emergency situations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Two-year degree in Engineering Technology or a closely related field or Completion of Industrial Training Program.

• Eight years' experience in chemical or oil industry or related EH&S fields after completing the Industrial Training Program or 4 years’ experience after completing the Two-year degree in Engineering Technology.
• Fluency in English
