Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Role:
Position Title: Topsides - Installation & Integration Execution Planning Lead

Assignment Location(s): St. John’s, Newfoundland (Home base)
Houston, Korea, etc - Business Travel
Bull Arm/other sites, Newfoundland (trips and full time during a required execution part of 2015-2016)

Responsible for leading the development of a consolidated installation and integration plan to achieve safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives for Topsides scope at the Bull Arm integration pier.
• Serve as a champion for safety
• Provide Construction execution experience & knowledge to required installation & integration plans/deliverables
• Coordinate with and provide oversight of EPC team including installation manager, integration manager and subcontractors
• Follow up construction planning responsibilities with site execution responsibilities

Responsibilities and duties:
• Promote safety awareness and safe performance among project team members, including EPC contractor and subcontractors
• Work with EPC to develop safe and efficient Topsides installation and integration detailed execution plan and deliverables including
 Detailed planning of Modules/ancillaries load outs/load ins, installation and integration/hook up
 Develop and implement Work pack process similar to turnaround
 Execute planning and development of work packs including scope, workforce, person-hours, equipment,etc
 Subcontract development and execution including Coordination Procedures
 Construction equipment plan, including temporaries
 Marine equipment plan; Module / ancillary logistics plan
• Work with Engineering to ensure constructability included in design for efficient execution; minimizing scope
• Review and provide input to development of contractor’s detailed plans and procedures to complete the work scope
• Oversee planning and execution of Bull Arm pier and quay civil upgrades required for installation and integration scope; coordinate with site management and civil superintendent
• Support Deep Water Site / Offshore execution planning, fill in as required as Lead
• Lead development/updates of onshore installation and integration cost & schedule estimates
• Support reviews of EPC and subcontractor staffing related to scope of work
• Liaison with Owner groups such as Drilling, Operations, and GBS to ensure interfaces incorporated in execution planning
• Coordinate with Offshore Installation group to plan, schedule, and execute module logistics and marine installation activities (e.g. LQ cantilever float over)
• Review all critical lifts and lead required risk assessments; ensure implementation of required mitigations
• Interface with fabrication site teams to monitor remaining works and interface for module transportation
• Provide input into Systems Completion planning and interface with integration commissioning coordinator
• Manage priorities for systems construction, completion and systems handover to Completions and Operability organization
• Oversight of day-to-day activities of EPC and Installation and Integration Sub Contractors
• Conduct regular meetings with project management to review overall safety, quality, and cost & schedule metrics for area of responsibility
• Recommend corrective actions where deficiencies are uncovered in contractor’s performance; verify that corrective actions are taken
• Coordinate with Company Function to arrange SME support to provide input for critical reviews and planning efforts
• Provide accurate and timely reports as needed to the Topsides I&I Manager on installation and integration activities
• Lead installation and integration contingency planning
• Verify work is completed in accordance with plans, procedures, and project specifications
• Engage with Engineering organization to resolve any clashes and determine best for project solutions
• Apply lessons learned from previous projects and participate in lessons learned reviews

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Thorough knowledge of project management including:
– Fabrication, construction, lifting/rigging, integration, systems completion, marine equipment and logistics
– Safety and Quality systems
– Planning
– Interface Management
– Contracting
• Demonstrated leadership capability
– Strong influencing skills; Adaptability to changing priorities
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• 15+ years of closely related professional experience; including 5+ years supervisory / management experience.
• Significant execution experience including turnaround, brownfield, HUC and/or offshore work
• Bachelor of Science Degree or technical diploma with equivalent/relevant experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
