The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
To provide the expert theoretical and practical capability in the design and development of engine catalyst and exhaust systems, for application to the Company’s products
In addition, the job holder will work closely with the product supplier in developing the most appropriate manufacturing process

• Responsible for developing and maintaining technical knowledge and capability
• Responsible for designing and planning own work for approval by SE and FM
• Responsible for design & development of systems & components which, when introduced into production, will satisfy the specified performance requirements are safe, legal and otherwise fit for purpose (including satisfying product liability requirements)
• Accountable for planning, monitoring and expediting all test, validation and certification of systems & components to demonstrate successful achievement of the above
• Accountable for timely design release for prototype build and production and for delivery of relevant Product Engineering activities required to achieve timely vehicle launch to quality and cost targets

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Appropriate Engineering Degree or acceptable National Certificate/Diploma and relevant experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Proven experience in the field of catalyst and exhaust system development, including working experience of the manufacturing processes employed
Experience in the field of acoustic development and its relationship to whole vehicle development
