The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

The Role:
This position is responsible for the parts and materials expediting function for Turnaround activities within our clients' Safe Work Practices and HSE guidelines.

• Interfaces with Procurement, Planning and Materials Management to expedite materials, hot shots and warehouse withdrawals.
• Requisition of parts and materials for daily maintenance needs
• Assists in coordinating the assembly of work packages at communicated drop locations
• Communication through various mediums (oral, written, tracking documents, email) to represent status of materials’ delivery to site.
• Provide daily support for Turnaround Planners and supporting CP team, in the procurement of parts, materials, and hot shots/vendor requests.
• Provides technical assistance as required.
• Works closely with Purchasing/Stores/Warehouse and the Maintenance Scheduler and Planners.
• Interfaces with project and plant change planning as required in regards to procurement of parts/materials
• Creates, uses, and maintains plant history and other technical information to include in current job plans.
• Preparation, updating, and analysis of reports as required.
• Uses safe work practices, procedures in daily work and participates in safety meetings.

Work takes place in a team environment with a high degree of interaction between Turnaround, Maintenance, Technical, Contractors, Contracts and Procurement, and Materials Management groups. Significant work at desk.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education preferred.
• Training in D & A and CSTS
• Strong interpersonal skills are required.
• Experience in Contracts and Procurement, Maintenance, or Turnaround role.
• Experience with SAP or Primavera is an asset.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of maintenance business processes and best practices, and manufacturing processes in an Upgrader, Refinery or Similar Petro-Chemical operation.
• Strong organizational and effective time management skills.
• Strong communications skills
• Behavior Based Safety awareness.
• Flexibility in managing changing priorities.
• Ability to work both with minimum supervision and in a team environment.
