The Role:
The position reports to the General Manager, Exploration & Geosciences Norway
Lead the Regional & New Ventures Team
Yearly appraisal of Regional & New Ventures staff
Ensure that all team members have a personal development plan and that training is completed as agreed
Conduct Regional & New Ventures work within specified budget constraints
Contribute to/run Norway & UK licence applications
Support BD projects and farm-in opportunities with subsurface analysis
Together with BD, deliver country evaluations & candidates for new country entries
Provide regional G&G input to licence teams
Establish and maintain UK/Norway cross border regional G&G understanding
Devise and document work flows for regional G&G evaluation
Promote GIS based basin & play analysis
Follow-up relevant regional research projects and contractors/data providers
Contribute to/lead peer reviews
Provide mentoring of less senior staff

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Geology/Geophysical degree or, preferably, a post graduate qualification
At least 15 years working experience with an operating E&P company, of which at least 5 years have been spent leading multi-disciplinary teams
Prior experience of the Norwegian and/or UK Continental Shelf and licensing system
Well-developed leadership & interpersonal skills
Extensive subsurface technical background
Ability to integrate well with other discipline and exploration teams
Good communication, presentation and problem solving skills
