The Company:
The company designs, constructs, transports, installs and removes offshore facilities for the global oil and gas industry. During the last decades they have become a significant international player in the offshore oil and gas construction industry. The Group consists of two divisions, each with a specific role in the activities of the Group

The Role:
Reports to: Production Support & Engineering Manager
Liaises with: Departmental personnel, Planning, Project & Production Manager

1 Function:
To provide man-hour estimating and fabricating progress reporting to the project.

2 Responsibilities:
Adherence to Company Policy and procedures.
Quality, safety, health and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety).
To perform tasks which may be requested by Management, from time to time.
To develop construction and fabrication man-hours against planned activities.
To communicate requirements effectively at project and production level.
Measurement of fabrication man-hours from fabrication drawing for construction work­ packs.
Use of Microsoft Access database for measurement of shop floor man-hours.
Population and maintenance of data in IFS production control database.
Co-ordination with material allocation, drawing office and procurement to establish work priorities and to expedite actions.
Identify man-hour trends , potential savings and commercial opportunities.
Together with the Production Planner, apply priorities to work-packs issued to the shop floor.
Updating and linking of drawings in IFS.
Individual risk awareness within job role.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Successful SHE Induction.
Educated to ONC or equivalent.
Familiarity with heavy structural fabrication techniques.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Experience of detailed shop floor estimating and planning.
Ability to interpret and measure complex technical drawings.
An understanding of company Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental systems & programmes.
Minimum 10 years relevant experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Construction Industry.
Good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
The ability to organise their own work in an efficient and effective manner.
A proactive approach, and the ability to recognise important deadlines and have flexibility to achieve them.
Good understanding of IT software packages.
An understanding of the Company's business processes across all departments. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
