The Company:
Our client specialise in the design, manufacture, assembly, test, installation and commissioning of bespoke solutions for the nuclear decommissioning, defence, and nuclear new build markets. The client is looking for a Fabricator to work on a major defence project therefore the candidate MUST be able and eligible to obtain SC clearance.

The Role:
There are multiple vacancies for welders and fabricators to join the team for a major upcoming project. The roles initially are a 6 month contract with the view of this being long term

Applicants must have worked in similar industries: nuclear, defence, petrochemical or oil & gas.

They must also have a proven track record of holding down long term positions in similar roles.

Role Purpose
- Stainless Steel Fabricator/Plater
- Carbon Steel Fabricator/Plater
- Nickel Chrome Fabricator/Plater
- Monel (Ni/Cu Alloy) Fabricator/Plater
- Documentation control

Key Activities / Decision Areas
- Fabricators to work to Engineering drawings to construct metal products from sheet metal parts to metal moulds.
- Works with a full range of small, medium and large constructions.
- Job duties include aligning, fitting, welding, measuring, calculating expansion and contraction of material to enable successful welding operations, laying out and inspecting parts, making cutting lines, studying specifications and working to weld maps, gathering materials and operating cutting saws.
- Working with such tools as blowtorches, shears, guillotine, gauges ETC.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Apprentice Trained – Engineering/Craft Studies.
- 3-5 Years in either Nuclear or Engineering Sector (Essential) or Aerospace/Defence/Oil & Gas sector (Desirable).
- Operational experience of Fabrication. (Desirable).
- Product Audit/Verification of weld process and experience of associated records.
- Ability to interpret Engineering Customer Specifications and Engineering Drawings and define Fabrication/Weld requirements, Acceptance criteria, qualifications and approvals.
- Pipe work installation and Pipe bending maybe advantageous.
