The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Facilities Engineer Reporting to a Lead Facilities Engineer, the Facilities Engineer will take the lead role in a number of small and medium sized projects, developing / defining robust engineering solutions to meet necessary facility reliability and capability requirements that will then produce pressed parts at the required rate and to the required cosmetic and dimensional quality standards. This role requires the successful candidate to work closely with the production and maintenance teams to understand all technical challenges and objectives of the task. They will then engage suitable equipment supply partners to develop a cost effective solution and delivery plan. The Engineer will then manage the engineering development with all necessary inputs, they will lead the delivery, installation and commissioning of the new or modified facilities to meet the performance criteria requirements, with successful completion demonstrated by securing end-user sign off, within budget and programme targets. This role requires close working and enrolment of New Model Programme Managers, Process Planners, Facility equipment suppliers, Civils and Electrical / Mechanical services team and Safety, Production, Maintenance representatives.

Experience Required:
Proven project delivery experience in a manufacturing environment. A working knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation, particularly CDM regs, and understanding of appropriate risk assessments and method statements to safely control the delivery of change.

Experience Preferred:
An understanding of Automation cells, PLCs, Safety systems and current technology. An understanding of client's documentation and processes would be preferable, and GPDS timing milestones..

Education Required:
A relevant engineering degree and / or relevant experience is essential, as would time served in manufacturing engineering, stamping production environment and / or related role.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Must have an ability to drive forward the design, development and implementation of new or improved facility solutions. Must be able to engage and work closely with all stakeholders to find appropriate and robust solutions. Must be able to develop appropriately scaled cost packs, Budgets and Timing Plans. Must have a working knowledge of AutoCAD drawing packages. Must have a working knowledge of Health & Safety including CDM control and the implementation of safe systems of work for delivery of installation works. Must be capable of running facility design reviews, buy offs and hand over events to customer dept. Self motivated and confident team player. Good communication skills, both verbally and written.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
An understanding of press shop processes and related equipment. An understanding of processes and techniques associated with the production of aluminium parts.
