The Company:
Our client, an international major oil and gas operator, seeks a Facilities Engineer to join their team.

The Role:
This project is a large scale effort in the Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Exploration & Projects (DWEP) business unit to implement technologies and infrastructure for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) in deepwater oil assets in the Gulf of Mexico. The project team will be considering a range of EOR alternative technologies for deployment at various deepwater locations. The project is currently in Phase 2 (Pre-FEED) with transition to Phase 3 (FEED) expected in 2014.
The Facilities Engineer will report to the Facilities Engineering Team Lead. This position is intended to provide general design and project management support within the facilities team. This will include support for the development of EOR alternatives, including design of deepwater upstream processing facilities and infrastructure. Scope includes alternative generation, technical-economic analysis, engineering feasibility and cost studies, technology development and technology qualification. This will involve coordinating activities among diverse groups, including oil and gas processing, topsides, subsea, pipelines, floating facilities, shipping, subsurface, drilling & completions, operations, HES, and external contractors and vendors. The Facilities Engineer will also support risk and interface management, and assist the Facilities Lead in the application of project development, execution and quality decision processes.
Key Job Responsibilities (essential position functions):
• IIF safety leadership during all project phases demonstrating visible commitment to safety.
• Assist in managing design work, including coordinating in-house subject matter experts and engineering contractors.
• Monitor designs to ensure compliance with company and project requirements. Work with a variety of disciplines and engineering contractors to ensure all systems are designed to the required standards and meet expected performance targets.
• Support the Topsides Lead and Project Manager in the application of all aspects of Chevron's Project Development and Execution Process (CPDEP) including value optimization, front-end loading and project execution planning.
• Develop detailed plans for Phases 3 and 4.
• Support development of cost estimates.
• Contribute to bidding and award of engineering contracts.
• Assist in planning, cost tracking and reporting as needed.
• Support project execution processes, including management of change, risk and interface management, project assurance, project planning, quality assurance and decision analysis.
• Proven ability to work in multi-discipline teams.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Proven experience (10+ years) in upstream deepwater facilities projects
