The Role:
Facilities Engineer

a. Duties:
• Apply surveillance skills to monitor subsea production systems and topsides processing facilities within the NOV portfolio.
• Apply knowledge of subsea systems to diagnose performance issues, evaluating subsea hardware proposals, subsea chemical proposals, and flow assurance issues.
• Work with Facilities and Subsea functional expertise groups to bring in more specific assistance where needed.
• Participate in major hazard and process safety reviews.
• Provide discipline-specific technical support for commercial issues, contracts, audits and other non-technical functions.
• Analyse and recommend opportunities to optimize throughput, capacity and surface system availability.
• Work effectively with other teams in DW, including Well Engineering, Subsea Engineering, Operations, Finance, Project Administration, Contracts, and Economics.
• Provide input to business cycle activities including the annual Business Plan.
b. Qualifications: Technical professional with at least 5 years of experience in Surface Engineering disciplines with demonstrated leadership skills and competencies.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Preference for candidates with offshore deepwater and subsea experience.
• Upstream operational background with some experience in field operations is strongly preferred.
• Ability to review Operator proposals, quickly grasp key risks and success factors, and build influence plans to address concerns with the Operator staff.
• Firm understanding of industry facilities design standards and codes, and performance standards, such as ENG’s, CFRs, API codes. Knowledge of Shell Design Engineering Practices is a plus.

• Experience in project delivery is a plus.
• Prior experience with Non-Operated Ventures is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder demands and issues, ability to manage projects and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.
