The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for developing, agreeing and delivering detailed facility requirements as allocated to them by a Facilities Manager. This includes project managing internal/external customers and suppliers to ensure involvement and delivery of the concept, specification, procurement, design, manufacture, installation, integration, training, handover and sign-off of projects both on & off site as appropriate. The Facilities Engineer must deliver to the agreed Quality, Cost and Delivery targets whilst ensuring legal compliance.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Technical
a. Deliver Facilities in line with agreed Product/Project plans. Including technical development and implementation of facilities, equipment, technologies, processes
b. Apply Practical Problem Solving and Hierarchical Control techniques to pro-actively deliver solutions, mitigate risk or re-actively solve issues
c. Ensure continual updating of technical knowledge. EG Liaison with Group Colleagues, Benchmarking, Strong Weak Point Analysis
d. Ensure facilities comply to all Legal Statutes EG Health and Safety at Work Act, Construction, Design & Management Reguirements, Provision and Use of Work Equipment Reguirements, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
2. Financial
a. Support Technical/Functional Manager in responding to Financial requests and Target Setting EG Project evaluation, Site Strategy, Commit/Spend forecast
b. Delivery of solutions within agreed budget targets
3. Project Management
a. Coordination of internal/external customers and suppliers to ensure the solutions meet the business requirements and Quality, Cost and Delivery targets
b. Generation and maintenance of deliverable milestones & detailed delivery plans, which support the Product/Project plan, in accordance to business requirements EG Product Emergence Process, Company Operating Policies


HEALTH & SAFETY
Responsible for ensuring that the Function operates in accordance with all Legal Statutes, site policies and procedures in respect of Health and Safety, in order to ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of Colleagues and visitors.

Demonstrable experience in
a. Facilities Management role including planning and delivery
b. Effective cross functional communication
c. Project Management
d. Risk Mitigation (application of Hierarchy Of Control) & Containment
e. Practical Problem Solving
f. Control Systems
g. Automotive
h. Civil
i. Mechanical
j. Electrical

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred Degree in Engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience & HNC/HND
Preferred membership of Professional Engineering Institute
SMSTS Site Management Certificate
