The Role:
Position Purpose
The position purpose comprises the key objectives for the position, and functions that this position is responsible for on a day to day basis in one sentence and not exceeding three or four lines that answers what, why and how.
• Contribute to delivery of design and engineering studies for surface facilities, in the framework of field development plans, to meet the defined schedule objective.
• Guide and direct internal and external technical resources in the Concept Phase surface facilities
• Contribute to the multi-discipline work to be done by interfacing with the Field Development Managers and Leaders as well as his peers in other disciplines.
• Identify and promote new technologies in new domains and to reduce costs.
• Participate in itineration / optimisation of business value of the Field.

EHS Accountabilities
• Demonstrate personal commitment to the EHS Policy
• Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory and GLNG EHS standards.
• Confront EHS risk and drive processes to lower risk to as low as reasonably possible.
• Actively participate in GLNG safety awareness and initiative schemes
• Ensure that appropriate water treatment and disposal solutions are implemented, and that regulatory requirements are identified and reported
Job Accountabilities
• Ensure delivery of high quality design concepts in accordance with Regulatory requirements, relevant Santos and Industry Standards and Santos SQAD processes.
• Develop effective networking across surface facilities, subsurface, drilling, environmental, project governance, operations, supply, commercial and economics teams to ensure studies delivery
• Coordinate studies for field development from the surface facilities aspect (plants, surface infrastructure). Lead the teams carrying out facilities engineering development studies (from Appraisal / Screening Gate till Definition Gate) and recommending design development scenario. Accountable for their quality and timely delivery in line with the agreed overall development strategy.
• Participate as required to technical, safety, HAZOP and risk reviews and assessments as required to deliver a high quality concept design.
• Contribute to define the most cost-effective solutions are implemented
• Participate in preparing dossiers for Santos GLNG, partners, authorities, as required

Technical Accountabilities
• Supervise the multi-disciplinary surface integrated studies to elaborate technical solutions meeting the requirements.
• Ensure the coordination and cohesion between Technical Facilities Team and other disciplines teams involved in Field Development
• Contribute to define, plan and initiate comprehensive studies to be conducted to assess the fields and to contribute to their development, on the basis of general guidelines.
• Identify any requirement for sites surveys to identify topographic constraints or retrofitting issues on existing facilities.
• Set a plan with any Engineering Contractors and Consultants mobilised to have all deliverables issued on time and check it on a regular basis
• Establish the feasibility/constructibility/operability of the concepts put forward
• Organize, control and check the inter-discipline coordination and the co-ordination with other functional teams in the context of Field Development
• Coordinate speciality studies. Guarantee the technical choice for surface facilities envisaged.
• Initiate any safety studies and reviews to ensure that the facilities are safe, operable and maintainable. Identify and propose remediation solutions whenever a safety issue is at stake.
• Make the necessary technical arbitration between the different disciplines in case of conflict interests and keep all parties informed.
• Participate to management of uncertainty and risk analysis, decision planning, risk management
• Contribute to the issue of elements to be included in the Long Term Plan, to issue the most accurate and realistic long term vision
• Guarantee the excellence and quality of studies; check the validity and consistency of the methods employed. Plan and implement all quality reviews required within the disciplines. Contribute to the Assurance Quality plan for Concept Development.
• Propose technical innovations and promote them

Team management
• Build the Technical Facilities team; define the organisation, methods, schedule and budget.
• Support, develop and coach staff to optimise potential of the team. Provide performance feedback, coaching and mentoring and ensure team development to optimise performance and commitment of leaders and employees.
• Conduct annual interviews and give approval on results on the basis of the objectives set
• Improve methodologies and tools. Drive process improvements or transform team approaches to optimise team performance and deliverables.
• Ensure appropriate workforce planning, talent attraction and development, and resource deployment to ensure business delivery and employee development needs are met.
• Produce an inventory of activities, anticipate its evolution and establish the work load plan
• Participate in the recruitment and ensure integration of newcomers within the team. Ensure that appropriate mentoring is implemented in the teams.

• Post Graduate Qualifications in relevant field

Required Experiences
• Oil and Gas
• 15 years experience in relevant field
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing large teams
• Previous project experience
