The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer and is currently experiencing an upturn in production with demand increasing globally.

The Role:
To provide expert theoretical and practical Finite Element Analysis services to the Chassis & Powertrain Engineering Department

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Finite Element analysis of Chassis and Powertrain components and systems in order to achieve efficient and robust design solutions
• Develop and maintain specialist technical knowledge / capability
• Define and plan own work and manage outsourced work
• Integration and expansion of analysis services
• Documentation, reporting and presentation of results
• Provide help and guidance to engineers / less experienced staff

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Significant experience working in a CAE environment, preferably within an Automotive OEM, capable of selecting and applying a number of analytical techniques to assess component strength, durability and stiffness
Detailed knowledge of Chassis Suspension and steering systems is highly desirable
Strong technical understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and associated material properties and behaviour
Expert user of typical Analytical tools, including; Hyperworks, Abaqus and NASTRAN

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in appropriate Engineering discipline
Preferably Chartered Engineer
