The Role:
We are currently looking for a high calibre fiber characterisation technologist, with extensive experience in the characterisation of the inorganic fibers particularly in basalt fiber. He shall have extensive theoretical knowledge of the materials used to produce inorganic fibres together with practical hands on experience developed for the fiber characterisation techniques. The position provides direct leadership to technicians responsible for the operation of the laboratory equipment and shall lead R&D projects to validate the performance of the fibres produced.

Responsibilities

1- Responsible of operating the fiber characterisation equipment i.e. liner density Analyzer for (BCF) Basalt Continuous Filament Yarn, tensile tester, Titer tester and microscope and etc.
2- Responsible to prepare the samples for characterisation using vacuum impregnation unit, polisher, and etc.
3- Planning and implementation of analytical strategy in laboratories.
4- Organizing multiple assignments based on priority.
5- Structure-properties and performance relationship for the raw material, fiber and polymer composites. Work in cross-functional team as well as interface of multiple analytical technique areas (chromatography, Thermal, spectroscopy)
6- Development and validation of new analytical methods.
7- Prepare technical reports, internal documentations.
8- Maintain the hardware and laboratory as per the quality systems (ISO 9001/ISO 17025).
9- Provide training to the subordinates.
10- Provide input to the characterisation program for basalt fibre/rock property analysis.
11- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, consultants, technology providers and universities as required
12- Contribute to the internal quality, safety and physical condition audits of the centre
13- Publish technical papers in international specialised magazines and participate in conferences to promote TASNEE products and image

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the inorganic fibre manufacturing industry and R&D activities. Graduate with MSc or PhD in Material science, Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline. Have expert level of knowledge about:

Basalt fiber and other inorganic fiber characterisation.
Basalt and glass fibre.
Quality system ISO 17025
Have good interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.
