The Role:
Key Roles

• Achieve project goals in respect to safe & environmentally compliant execution, quality build, within budget, on schedule and with good community relations.
• Lead a construction team of nine discipline construction engineers in management of an International Construction Contractor to successfully complete construction of the Compressor Station 1 and associated brownfield scope, co-located with existing Pump Station 1. The contractor is expected to have ~1100 staff & craft in this remote camp based location.
• Set the example in making Safety our first priority in everything we do.
• Directly accountable for overall field construction and field construction engineering, while coordinating with functional departments to ensure they provide adequate & timely support of the construction effort.
• Serve as the front line design engineering support to resolve Site Engineering Queries and/or coordinate with the Tbilisi based design engineering lead to obtain resolution by the London engineering office.


• Overall responsibility for the successful construction and start-up support of one of the three primary facilities. Includes accountability for completing construction while meeting performance targets relative to HSS, ES, Cost, Schedule, Quality, Community Relations, and Camp Operations.
• Manage completion of field construction via site execution and support contractors.
• Meet all project and mechanical completion sequential milestones.
• Coordinate provision of commissioning and start-up support by Facilities Construction Contractor.
• Contribute to development of Execute stage gate deliverables.
• Personal commitment to ensuring that the drive to achieve a Safe workplace is achieved through direct involvement with people and practices.
• Represents at the jobsite in all matters pertaining to local laws, labor relations, public and community relations. Responsible for maintaining company prestige within the community.
• Establishes and maintains contractor relationships.
• Implements and monitors performance measurement.
• Maintains close contact with the Site Manager during the construction phase in order to ensure adequate flow of information and materials to the field and resolve all problems arising in the field.
• Continually reviews: Terms of contract, with the Site Manager in order to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Promote safety awareness within all areas of the field construction organisation.
• Actively support health, safety & security (HSS) and environmental and social (E&S) values.
• Maintain awareness and promote project goals in respect of HS&E, Budget, Schedule, and Technical Integrity
• Effectively interface with the home office construction group and EPMS contractor to meet engineering deliverable contract commitments and resolve site engineering queries in a timely manner. Coordinate with engineering and the construction contractor to ensure fixes to design errors (clashes, etc.) are incorporated into later compressor trains to minimize or eliminate repetitive rework.
• Ensure that lessons learned are appropriately considered in the design and construction.
• Participate in constructability reviews.
• Challenge design change and contract growth.
• Anticipate and identify adverse trends/events throughout the construction period and work with the relevant parties to avoid them or achieve timely resolution
• Actively promote the risk management process.
• Participate in development of construction schedules and monitor deliveries against contract ROS dates for materials and equipment.
• Participate in review of detailed execution plans, site procedures, and schedules during pre-mobilization planning period. Participate in “go – no go” assessment and authorization for mobilization.
• Coordinate with company reps at contractor’s offsite pipe and structural steel fabrication shops.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• University Degree, Preferably in Engineering or Construction Management. (Alternative qualifications can be considered with relevant experience.)
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas Facility Construction involving:
o Experience of Onshore Plant construction, Greenfield and Brownfield
o Familiarity with International Standards which form the basis for project specifications
o Familiarity with quality standards for the Oil and Gas Industry
o Experience of planning for a major construction project.
o Experience of risk management process for a major construction project.
o Experience of Task Risk Assessment, HAZID
• Desired, but not mandatory, experience includes:
o Experience in managing construction sites in remote, camp environment
o International experience, preferably in the Republic of Georgia, Turkey or Former Soviet Union
