The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
Our client is looking to engage in a Field Ecologist based on a 19/9 rotation to the Surat Basin.
This team work across the companies gas fields and this role will report to the Field Environmental Superintendent, Environment Manager and Project Delivery.
The team incorporates various disciplines and undertakes surveys for various locations for their infrastructure to include cultural heritage, construction and land access. This role will require the incumbent to provide technical advise on flora and fauna including technical reporting and quantification works for offsetting.

You will be responsible for:
• Conducting pre-clearance surveys for infrastructure planning and construction in accordance with flora and fauna survey guidelines
• Re-inspection of infrastructure for flora, fauna, weeds and ecological features as required
• Identification of detailed quantification surveys to support permit to disturb applications
• Providing environmental identification and assessment or watercourses, wetlands and crossings
• Conducting field inspections of construction activities, environmental modelling or inspection services

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental, Terrestrial / Botanical or Ecological
• Understanding of the regional flora and fauna profiles, current Queensland and Commonwealth legislation and policies
• Relevant botanical knowledge, as well as experience relating to environmental offsets, assessment, development and implementation
