The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
The Field Electrical Engineer stewards all phases of the electrical installation at the Edmonton Module Yards. He will ensure that the Project's requirements, as detailed in the Project Design Basis for module yard installation are carried out faithfully, and in a timely fashion. Provides electrical technical leadership and advises other module yard technical engineers as necessary. Stewards electrical installation aspects of the detailed design. Stewards the interfaces among the design contractors and the module yard electrical organization. Manages electrical RFI and SDR documents and address module yard RFI's that can be closed at the module yard facility. Stewards RFI's to the engineering contractors to make sure that the RFI's are answered in a timely manner with consitent quality of response.

• Provide overall electrical engineering technical leadership and expertise
• Review, evaluate, and advise:
o Electrical specifications and drawings
o Compliance with the Detailed Design Basis, design methods and safety factors to be used in design of project.
• Steward the modular construction activites with respect to electrical engineering and design including:
o Power and control electrical wiring, lighting, HVAC, modular construction principals, termination boxes, cable tray, electric heat trace and bulk electrical material.
o Be familiar with electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
o Development of the schedule, recommended deliverables, and labor hour estimate for electrical for the module yard.
o Measurement and reporting of module yard construction progress
o Review selection and procurement of electrical bulks

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Thorough and extensive knowledge of:
o Electrical engineering principles, theories, and concepts
o Applicable Alberta and CSA electrical codes, GP's, industry standards, and trade practices
• Thorough knowledge and expert judgment in the application of electrical equipment and hardware
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of closely related professional engineering experience, 5+ years of which should be at the Senior Electrical Engineer level
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities, while acting within a team environment
