The Company:
Our client offers international marine services to the oil and gas industry, with a wide range of services from sub-sea construction and SURF solutions to accommodation hook-up and fabrication supported by a multi-cultural workforce of more than 2,400 persons.

The Role:
It concerns the position of Field Engineer for the Anguille Redevelopment Project (EPIC). Client executes this project for Total in Gabon. The project involves the laying of a pipe of 32 km between to platforms in Gabon.
The current planning is that the pipelay phase will start halfway June. The Field Engineer would start in our Rotterdam office on the 7th of May. Halfway May the Field Engineer will go offshore in Congo (mobilization of vessel). The job will probably be finished halfway/end of July.

• Ensuring that the engineering performed offshore is adequate for each project and in accordance with contractual requirements, company standards, Design Criteria, Engineering Guidelines and Installations Manuals.
• Performing on board design and engineering, including field calculations, for required modifications and/or appliances.
• Providing technical advise for construction and fabrication activities.
• Assisting Superintendent and Foremen to ensure smooth job preparation and in field operations.
• Resolving technical problems when occurring.
• Obtaining engineering support from onshore engineering department when required.
• Performing and reporting dimensional control surveys.
• Collecting and assisting in compiling as-built documentation.
• Verifying calibration of inspection, measuring and testing equipment.
• Adherence to Company policy and Company Management System (CMS).
• Proposing optimisation and improvements in his area of responsibility.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in nautical, civil, mechanical engineering.
• Valid BOSIET (incl EBS and HUET), valid yellow fever vaccination and a valid Offshore medical certificate
• Minimum of 5 years practical experience on offshore pipelay barges.
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of offshore transportation, installation and pipelay techniques.
• Must be familiar with quality, safety, health, environment and safety (QHSES) requirements for offshore installation projects.
• Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken.
