The Company:
Our client, a major owner-operator is currently looking for a Construction Field Engineer

The Role:
Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Assist in early site construction planning/planning interface with EP and C contractors prior to site mobilization.
- Serve as day-to-day interface with EP and C contractors during the Construction Phase.
- Engineering support for Construction OSR’s.
- Provide safety monitoring/leadership.

- Coordinate Site Change Management processes:
-Support preparation and review process for Scope Changes,
-Track progress of Change Orders.

- Coordinate Site Request for Information Process:
-Track & log all RFI’s,
-Accountable for the closure of all RFI’s in a timely manner,
-Act as interface between site and Engineering Contractor

- Interface with QA/QC personnel to address quality issues/progress.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, procedures, and plans.
- Monitor workforce productivities/progress relative to schedule and cost.
- Monitor environmental compliance, as required.
- Serve as liaison with Site Manager on barriers/emerging issues.
- Provide pre-commissioning/mechanical completion oversight/verification.
- Interface with Construction Foremen.
- Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans to contractors.
- Co-ordinate inspections with consultants and authorities as required by the contract.
- Provide interface with and expedite subcontractors.
- Ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications.
- On-site Management representative.
- Provide focused customer support for current and potential projects and aid in planning and execution.
- Provide technical support to Technicians and shop staff.
- Manage the procurement schedule for projects in this business unit.
- Ensure the efficient coordination of men and equipment to meet the customer’s needs.
- Participate in incident and accident reviews and investigations.
- Work with Operation & Equipment Coordinator to perform project and equipment inspections.
- Conduct Project close out sessions focused on information transfer from Field to Home Office.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Five to ten years site experience and firm understanding of oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of five years construction engineering and layout experience.
- Understanding of the regulatory bodies that govern the industry.
- Strong understanding of related mechanical operations.
- Skills in facilitation and negotiations.
- Must possess knowledge of HSSE processes
- Strong understanding of Quality Control.
- Ability to plan, coordinate and execute operations.
- Capacity to train and mentor others.
