The Company:
Our client is a world leader in efficiencies and optimisation across assets in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry

The Role:
Working as a Field Engineer carrying out Process Diagnostic and Measurement techniques, either as a team leader/member or individually, in order to provide a professional global customer service.

Reporting to a Project Manager, this role offers a unique opportunity to develop your expertise over a range of process applications. Working as part of or leading a team in the Australasia region, you will carry out process investigations and service activities that include radioisotope measurement techniques in Australia and overseas and you will also be using a variety of computer hardware and software for data collection and analysis.

You will have considerable responsibility and autonomy when you are away from base and there will be a substantial amount of customer contact required.

Key responsibilities:
• You will lead teams, as appropriate in order to deliver techniques to customers whilst liaising with them seeking to resolve all queries within a specific timescale.
• You will conduct and oversee investigations on site using radioisotope techniques on customer processes and process equipment, including offshore and overseas to carrying out fault finding and troubleshooting techniques in order to resolve customer queries.
• As you will be working at customer sites providing a professional service you will provide professional technical reports (to ISO 9001 standard) and present findings and results to customers as and when required.
• It is vital that you promote extended services to customers whilst at their sites, in order to generate future business and you must be prepared to work away from home and travel extensively to support the business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
To apply for this role, you will have previous, relevant experience and ideally possess an engineering degree, or be time served and qualified to diploma level or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation or Process Engineering. Consideration will also be given to candidates who have a wealth of experience in a similar role within the oil & gas, or process industries.
You will be computer literate (Microsoft Office & Lotus Notes applications) and have PLC familiarisation along with a good understanding of instrument / electrical loop diagrams. You will must have excellent leadership skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues at all levels. As well as being able to demonstrate an excellent practical aptitude you will be self-motivated, possessing an enquiring and challenging mind. The work involves climbing distillation columns and other structures, and therefore a head for heights is obviously required
