The Role:
Our client is looking for a Field Environment Advisor to provide field presence and assurance that contractors on projects are compliant to regulatory and company environmental requirements.

Reporting to the HSE Manager of Projects, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• First point of contact to resolve environmental issues with escalation to Field Environmental Superintendent / HSE Manager
• Understand and apply environmental conditions of permits and approvals, policies and procedures and management plans to Projects
• Provide recommendations and advice on environmental solutions for field based construction, operations and decommissioning, including aspects such as flora and fauna management, pest and weed control, soil management, drainage, erosion and sediment control, water quality and use of CSG water, chemical and waste management, nuisance complaints and rehabilitation
• Undertake site inspections and meetings to ensure field compliance to permit conditions, company requirements and legislation
• Maintain registers and databases for maintenance requests, action trackers, environmental incidents, fauna interactions, contractor document review, waste tracking, water source approvals and weed hygiene documentation
• Provision of advice on weed management (and including register of weed hygiene inspection booklets, training and mapping of weed infested areas)
• Undertake in-field water quality testing prior to use of water sources for construction and dust suppression
• Undertake injured wildlife assessment and transport to carers and snake handling/relocation
• Review Contractor Site Environmental Management Plans, attend kick off and pre-construction meetings and toolboxes to promote awareness of environmental conditions in line with Access To Work requirements
• Implement systems and deliver best value on-the-ground environmental compliance outcomes in accordance with team priorities

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Technical Experience Required:
• A working knowledge and understanding of environmental legislation, policies, standards and practices (both federal and state legislation) and how they are applied in the workplace
• User of established environmental systems, techniques, tools and software. Experience actively promoting environmental systems of work on a day-to-day basis
• Understanding of construction, linear (e.g. pipelines/roads) and static sites
• Sufficient field environmental engineering/ecology or equivalent in environmental management, rehabilitation, clearing, erosion and sediment control
• Experience developing and implementing environmental policies, procedures and environmentally compliant systems of work
• Experience using the principles and processes of environmental planning and management
• Solid experience advising managers and supervisors in the identification, assessment, and control of environmental hazards (if certified)
