The Role:
Project is looking to bring on one Field Inspector – Coatings-Insulation-Fireproofing for a position to support the Olefins Recovery Project at their Olefins Plant. Please see the minimum qualifications and the Job Description for the position.

SITE INSPECTOR – Coatings-Insulation-Fireproofing

Reports Functionally and Administratively to: Project – Site Quality Assurance Leader

The Site Inspector, regardless of discipline, functions as a member of the Project Inspection Quality Assurance Team. Each discipline inspector will monitor, assess and verify quality inspection activities performed by the (D)EPC Contractor on the Project/sub-project(s). The SI will be expected to assist the Contractor to successfully implement its approved Quality Plan, ITPs and control procedures to ensure the equipment and materials supplied to and installed at the job site meet all specification and statutory requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Implement the Project - Site Inspection Surveillance Plan within the sub-project(s), where necessary.
• Assist in the initial assessment of the Contractor’s Quality Program, control procedures and ITPs as they relate to this specific discipline.
• Perform periodic assessments of Contractor’s:
 Receiving inspection of materials arriving at site.
 Warehouse/Lay-down area utilization to segregate materials prior to use.
 Material traceability once it is issued for use.
 Coatings, Insulation, and Fireproofing process controls.
 Coatings, Insulation, and Fireproofing inspections throughout the process plus any testing activities that apply.
 Any other Coatings, Insulation, and Fireproofing works contained in the Contractor’s ITP not listed above.
• Monitor Contractor to ensure resolution of DR/NCR/CAR’s in a timely manner.
• Verify resolutions for DR/NCR/CAR’s are in accordance with authorized dispositions.
• Verify Contractor is obtaining the proper permits required for the work.
• Witness selected testing and Hold Point as indicated in the Contractor’s ITPs.
• Review selected Contractor inspection documents for completion and correctness.
• Participate as an observer in selected Contractor internal audits.
• Participate in punch-list preparation prior to final acceptance for turnover.
• Participate in verification of completion of punch-list items prior to turnover.
• Review selected Contractor final documentation packages.
• Advise and inform the SQAL on Quality issues, status and metrics.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• NACE Level II
• 10+ years’ experience in petrochemical / refining construction / maintenance environment
• Extensive knowledge of Coatings, Insulation, and Fireproofing installations and inspections
o Previous experience with the international standard for Insulation (CINI) would be a plus
o Previous experience with installation and inspection of Pyrocrete fireproofing would be a plus
