A major, international oil and gas company

The Role:
Working on a 28/28 rotation basis, the Instrument and Control Engineer is located on site and provides technical support and assurance during installation and commissioning of field instrument, control and safety systems. This position provides day to day monitoring of EPC Contractor field engineering, construction and commissioning activities to ensure field execution activities are performed in accordance with project HSE, quality and delivery objectives.

Duties will include:
Demonstrate HSSE leadership and promote a high standard of HSSE behaviour within the EPC Contractor and sub-contractor organisations
Implements discipline-specific activities in accordance with the Integrity Management implementation plan and Inspection and Test Plans
Provides discipline engineering support and technical endorsement of MOC proposals
Resolution of technical queries, non-conformances etc. within discipline
Technical review and endorsement of discipline work methods, commissioning and operating procedures
Ensures plans for storage, preservation and handling of materials and equipment are established and implemented to mitigate risk to integrity and reliability of installed instrument systems.
Verifies installations are in accordance with project drawings, relevant specifications and applicable codes and standards within discipline
Witness/acceptance of discipline functional tests including attendance at FAT as required.
In conjunction with EPC Contractor, identifying and coordinating discipline vendor support for installation and commissioning scope including start-up
Participates in system walk-down and punch list activities
Reviews Mechanical Completion dossiers (by discipline)
Reviews System Completion dossiers (by discipline)
Discipline signatory for mechanical completion certification and formal punch lists
Reviews and/or prepares commissioning marked up engineering documents and data to enable delivery of as built documents and data.
Verifies close out of all NCR, SQ, Field Changes etc prior to CAC

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree or higher qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline
Experience in the design, operation and maintenance of process control and instrumentation systems in the oil and gas sector
Fully familiar with industry codes and standards (IEC etc) within area of discipline responsibility
A high level of technical competence and comfortable performing in a discipline/technical authority role in a multi-discipline engineering team

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Ability to speak French and/or Arabic is an advantage
