Field Piping Engineer

The Company:
Our client, a major international Engineering, Procurement & Construction company, requires expertise for their ongoing mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
• Answer field queries from construction contractor
• Write non-conformance reports and progress reports
• Participate in field discussions
• Familiarize oneself with project specifications, datasheets or drawings and direct information to the contractors when required
• Interact with vendors, site, fabrication yard and client to sort out queries related to Piping Stress and Materials
• Manage Piping Materials Control at site as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, with preference to APEGGA registered engineer
• 5+ years experience in piping materials or stress engineering related to Oil Sands and/or Hyrdocarbon projects, with an emphasis on interaction with various engineering disciplines, vendors and clients.
• Experience in a leading EPCM company is preferred
• Field experience is essential
• Knowledge of all aspects of piping design and piping engineering
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Advanced skills in Excel and Sharepoint
