The Role:
The Field Service Engineer, Nuclear (FSE) will be a key player in the client and is expected to contribute in all areas of the business. Working as a key member of the Engineering Team, the FSE’s key duties will be to plan, perform and supervise on-site inspections, maintenance, repair and/or overhaul of Electro-mechanical equipment manufactured, licensed, or otherwise supported by the client in a service or warranty capacity as requested by the customer. Also, to provide training for client’s operators and engineers in the use, operation, fault finding (diagnostics) and repair or other supported equipment covered by the clients contracts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Duties:
The FSE will be responsible for the organisation and management of field service projects, personnel and installations. Key duties will be to: - Perform on-site service and warranty functions as requested by the customer and authorised by the clients management.
Ensure that all personnel in the team work in a safe manner and comply with defined statutory and company, local Health and Safety rules and regulations at all times.
Ensure that all the clients requirements for service and maintenance have been completed before leaving the customer’s facility.
Perform failure analysis on warranty and service calls, using engineering personnel (as necessary) to determine cause of malfunction and/or the validity of a warranty claim, and coordinate with the customer.
Perform inspections and certifications for applicable equipment to appropriate and corresponding inspection codes.
Work with Engineering to generate and submit service and installation reports.
Ensure that all personnel working on assigned tasks are trained in the requirements and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that required PPE is worn at all times and is maintained and replaced as required.
Assist in the delivery of training courses (once suitably qualified) to client operators and engineers.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions and convey requirements of the documents to the assigned team members when required.
Maintain close contact with customers for engineering issues for all product lines and provide customer technical assistance, when required, via telephone or face-to-face meetings, either on site or at the clients premises.
Fulfil manpower requirements for service and installations by coordinating with the Engineering team.
Maintain strict control of own and others time on assigned tasks and ensure that all direct and indirect hours are charged accurately and to the appropriate accounts.
Provide detailed timesheet and expense reports on a timely basis as required by the clients procedures.
Ensure the Managers capture all condition reports to include pricing, and job expenses to include materials, travel and time keeping.
Maintain Field Service policies by developing, administrating and monitoring all field Service policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

SECONDARY DUTIES:
Assist with production of quotations to fulfil our customer needs.
Interface with customers to explore potential improvements to be incorporated into new designs or to existing designs.
Assist with bid and proposal work as requested.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with possible engineering issues in various stages of manufacturing.
Advise the customer of any additional items that may require replacement, and service and support spare parts concerning all Identify further business opportunities and assist with achieving further sales in addition to service and maintenance.
Planning and undertaking estimating large and/or highly technical quotations
Assist in future recruitment, training, appraising and maintaining a qualified work force capable of servicing the needs of our customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
The FSE will be based at the Seascale office but will be expected to work in the Seascale Engineering and Training facility, which includes a small machine shop, assembly area and Manipulator operation and training facility.
Work is frequently performed in customer nuclear facilities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Must be able and willing to work in nuclear facilities, including situations requiring use of special PPE.
Must be able to obtain security access to nuclear installations.
Must be able to supply a current Disclosure Scotland criminal records check as this is a key requirement of obtaining security clearance.
Must be able to read engineering drawings and interpret engineering specifications.
Must have strong “troubleshooting” abilities.
Must be proficient with computers and computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Willing to travel domestically and internationally
Experience in a field service role, preferably nuclear related.
Ability to function within working conditions and physical requirements described above.
Able to travel from time to time.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering qualifications.
5 or more years experience in a field service role.
Already Security Cleared
Already Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) working on nuclear sites. This to include working in special PPE as required.
Current experience in robotics, manipulators, crane or other electro-mechanical businesses.
Technical familiarity with electromechanical systems and related control software.
Strong ability to grow professionally as the revenue and the company grows.
