The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
My client is looking to recruit a strong candidate who will take a primary role in the support of their customers. Based from home you will need to diagnose and repair robots that are installed across customer locations throughout the UK. This is a 24/7 business with extensive travel in UK and IE and they operate a system rota to provide support to customers outside office hours via telephone and via site visits.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Responsd, diagnosis and repair robots and associated equipment.
• Provide technical support and assistance to customers on robots and associated equipment.
• Represent the company to a high standard during site visits, communicating at all levels to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of therobots and associated equipment in their designated area of expertise e.g. Paint process and robotic equipment, welding process.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all other areas of robots and equipment.
• Provide call-out cover outside of normal working hours on a periodic bases
• Maintain expert knowledge in process applications inlcuding relevant 3rd party technology.

Secondary duties and responsibilities:

• Provide on-site installation and commissioning of robotic based solutions.
• Provide support to service desk team within the Field Service (e.g. Telephone technical support, RSI activities)
• Provide support to contract engineering team within the Service departments (e.g. cover for Site Resident Engineers, PPM activities)
• Provide support to the training team within the Service Group.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Hands on experience-mechanical, electrical and software S4, IRC5 platform.
• Have process knowledge in one or more disciplines – welding, paint, handling, palletising.
• Have a working knowledge of control systems, I/O, PLC and bus communication.
• Able to travel within UK and Europe
• Formal electrical/electronic qualifications
