A midstream, downstream oil and gas company is seeking a Finance Controller
The Role:
Function:
Develop and implement accounting policies, programs, and systems to control the company’s assets and provide complete and accurate financial information to management, region and group.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial analysis, planning and reporting. Monitor and evaluate the performance of local accounting team, functions, policies, systems and procedures in achieving strategic objectives. Ensure compliance with companie’s rules and procedures.
Develop, analyse and interpret statistical and accounting information and appraise profitability and performance against budget on a weekly and monthly basis. Review volume and margin results on a weekly basis by location and ensure costs are properly recorded and within plan. Provide weekly commentary on performance to management.
Prepare and review organization’s monthly and yearly financial statements and reports to ensure they have been accurately prepared, present findings and recommendations to the top management. Reports may include auditor and financial analyst reports; profit and loss statements and balance sheets; and regulatory reports and findings.
Ensure inventory is properly valued in accordance with Group policy and perform checks on a daily/weekly and monthly basis to ensure stock is properly reconciled and accurately recorded.
Coordinate and produce annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Ensure balance sheet items are accurately recorded and controlled on a monthly basis.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience:
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience, with at least 4 in financial/accounting management.
• CPA/CA/ACCA Certification preferred.
• Audit experience is preferred in public accounting or internal audit.
Skills:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Fluent in English
