The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.

They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
A new position has arisen for a Management Accountant to join on a 12 month contract basis in Perth.
The position of Management Accountant is responsible for delivery of business planning, analysis, reporting, forecasting and specific finance projects within the business unit.

The scope of the role includes the following activities for the Business Unit includes the reporting of the project venture activities including budgeting, planning and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting
• Prepare, Analyse and Issue monthly Performance Monitoring Report (PMR). This involves collating the relevant data, analysing the variances and working with the business to provide relevant commentary.
• Prepare, Reconcile and Issue UJV and IJV Monthly Financial Statements.
• Prepare, Analyse and Issue monthly Service Asset reports.


Budget
Deliver understanding and monitoring of the project business unit budget process
• Support the budgeting process, provide instructions, support and guidance to key finance and function personnel
• Advise and liaise with B&F to ensure business unit reporting requirements and key deadlines are satisfied
• Coordinate with functional units to ensure information is prepared and approved by functional managers to ensure the business unit reporting requirements and key deadlines are satisfied
• Review and critically analyse budget data prepared for the business unit
• Prepare and Issue final Program and Budget docs to JVP’s
• Focal point for budgeting process improvements

Foundation Project Close Out
Focal point for all remaining foundation project financial deliverables.
• Prepare, Analyse and Issue Monthly progress report
• Liaise with the business on remaining work scope requirements and forecast updates. Ensure that any changes to the forecast are reflected in FinPlan
• Continual monitoring of foundation project spend.
• Procurement approvals. Ensure that any new purchase requests are within budget and approve or challenge where necessary
• Close out of remaining service asset and WBS codes.
• Monitoring of the close out of remaining open purchase orders
• Various Ad hoc requirements


AFE Management
Focal point for the creation, monitoring and closure of the projects AFE’s

• Coordinate all relevant documentation required for the creation of AFE’s.
• Creation of AFE within SAP
• Issue of AFE information to JVP’s
• Monitoring of AFE spend
• Closure of AFE’s in line with corporate guidelines.


Other Responsibilities
• Coordinate and prepare Cash Call requests for JVPs
• Maintenance of business unit master data
• Maintenance of master data within PRRT system

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Professionally qualified accountant (ACA/CPA or equivalent), economist or other similar financial discipline.
2. 4-6 years working experience as a professional in finance/accounting. Experience in extractive industry / Joint Venture accounting advantageous.
3. Experience in general administration, management and dealing with finance and commercial issues.
4. Good understanding of strategic and business planning and experience in the provision of financial analysis and decision support.
