The Company:
Our client is an integrated independent solar power producer, delivering affordable, rapidly deployable and sustainable source of clean energy worldwide. A long term player, we develop, build, own, operates and maintains solar power plants, and already has an installation track record of close to 600 MW.

The Role:
Main purpose of position

Head of finance department for all Mozambique client entities. In addition to setting up the local financial and tax reporting processes/organization, the position will also include various office administration duties.

Responsibilities

• Set up the local finance organization and establish procedures and controls for all relevant finance processes
• Support project organization in terms of project development, construction and ultimately asset management activities
• Oversee and liaise with external accounting firm (if outsourced)
• Banking, trades and payments
• Monthly group reporting
• External reporting (statutory financial statements, VAT, CIT, customs, payroll, etc.)
• Coordinate the audit process
• Adhoc internal queries
• Internal controls over financial reporting
• Establish ERP system
• Budgets and forecasts
• Cost controlling
• Reconciliations
• Prepare BoD material
• Tax planning and reporting (local and group), transfer pricing
• Office administration
• Customs handling

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications (1.Formal educational background 2. Work experience 3. Competencies)
o Formal educational background
o University level degree, preferably with specialization in Finance, Accounting;
o Solid academic results;
o Comprehensive excel skills


o Work experience
o At least 5 years of experience within accounting, tax, VAT, import duty, controlling, budgeting and internal controls;
o IFRS and local accounting regulation knowledge and experience;
o Experience of finding optimal taxation structures, including importation of goods;
o Experience of working across national borders for an international company;
o Experience of establishing subsidiary offices in Mozambique, business start-up, starting a finance department from scratch;
o Preferred experience from the Renewables, Real Estate or Infrastructure sectors or from other industries / companies with strong financial practices;
o Preferred international experience either during study or work;
