The Role:
Accountabilities
• Prepare accurate and reliable monthly management accounts with variance analysis for review by VP Finance
o Reporting to shareholders
o Internal management accounts responsibilities
• Prepare in year financial forecasts for review (Sales, Costs, EBITA, Cashflow)
• Conduct debtor and creditor reviews and work to ensure payment/receipt in line with terms and escalate as necessary
• Preparation and review of Contract Status Reports for major projects and ensure that historical data is reconciled to the underlying financial statements
• Prepare weekly cashflow analysis to ensure adequate liquidity available in the business to furnish forecasted requirements
• Prepare monthly cost base reporting to enable the monitoring of costs and decision making. Attend monthly reviews and apply appropriate challenge
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconcilations for review
• Work with the business to prepare initial IBP and budget submissions ensuring buy-in from the business
• Ensure that all financial processes are accurately documented, reviewed and updated as necessary and that all processes comply with the Finance Policies Manual
• Responsibility for payroll preparation and payment (until transfer to Shared Service)
• Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
• People management and development
• Deputise for VP Finance as required

Key Skills
• Qualified accountant with extensive experience gained in a small/medium size company or accounting practice.
• Knowledge of BAE Systems processes and policies would be advantageous
• Proven record of promoting and maintaining a strong financial control environment
• Ability to communicate financial information and key messages with all levels of the organisation, financial and non-financial, clearly and concisely
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to foster solid links with other departments within the organisation and promote financial awareness within the organization
• Strong leadership and influencing skills
• Ability to deliver accurate reporting and requirements within prescribed timetable
