The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company with a global presence playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.They are one of the worlds leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to provide financial support to the reporting team and assist with end of year processing for a 6 month contract.

Provide financial accounting support to the Group Reporting made up of the following teams:
1. Period end Close business process ownership
2. Financial Accounting Transactions
3. Business Unit Financial Accounting
4. Technical Accounting

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

* Prepare journals and analysis as required
* Marketing, Trading and Shipping assistance with fund management
* Prepare and collate documentation using the in house system
* Assist with the preparation of share issuance letters to equity funded subsidiaries
* Review and provide feedback on the unaudited financial statements as delivered
* Support the audit of financial statements and liaise with the external auditors

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Professional qualification (ACA/CPA) or experience in statutory financial accounting
* Minimum 2 years experience in finance/accounting
* Audit and assurance experience is beneficial but not a pre-requisite
* Experience in the statutory financial reporting process
* Experience in participating in year-end audits
* Exposure to SAP is beneficial but not a pre-requisite
* Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and the corporate regulatory environment
* Exposure to statutory reporting in foreign jurisdictions would be beneficial but not a pre-requisite.
* Proven ability to manage competing tasks and prioritise
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong financial and commercial analytical skills
