The Role:
Job title Financial Analyst & Project Portfolio Analyst – Anchorage, Alaska
Role Synopsis This role combines Financial Analyst duties along with a Project Portfolio administrative function. The role supports a small team of Company and contractor staff for administrative duties and maintains the Planview (PV) Project Portfolio tool on behalf of the IT&S organization. PV tracks IT&S Project Spend across the AK SPU totaling $10m and ~50 individual projects.

PV is the IT&S tool of choice for project portfolio management across the IT&S function. This role will be accountable to Upstream IT&S Finance with dotted line responsibility to the Alaska CIO.

The IT&S Region Financial Analyst will provide effective financial planning and performance and commercial operations management for IT&S services delivered to the Alaska Region and Region as well as financial control for the local Upstream and GOI, ES (Enterprise Solutions) activities.

Key accountabilities Financial Reporting
• Obtain quarterly actuals from IBR (investment) reports (data source SAP) and Operating costs from IPMS (data source SAP feed) and report into SCORE (Upstream IT&S Financial Reporting System).. Prepare variance analysis against forecasts and plan..Training will be offered on using these data sets and SCORE reporting
• Assure BROs/PMS/BIMS have monthly Opex and Investment actuals
• Work with BIMS/PMS/BRO’s to obtain quarterly, annual, and long range forecasts for the Alaska Region’s Upstream IT&S costs and report into SCORE.
• Work with BIMs, PMS, BROs to obtain quarterly accruals and provide to Region Finance teams
• Perform historical trending and run rate analysis
• Coordinate Monthly Performance Review data for Alaska CIO discussions with Upstream Western Hemisphere CIO
• Prepare power point presentations for Alaska Financials
• Ensure adequate cost codes are set up to deliver agreed budget, within a consistent structure across Upstream and GOI IT&S;
• Track key metrics used across IT&S, ensuring their accuracy
• Ensure local allocation keys are accurate and refreshed annually and applied consistently through IT&S.
• Manage analysis, monitoring and processing of IT&S expenditure, ensuring they are undertaken consistently to local Region and IT&S standards.
• Facilitate initiation and approval of inter-company invoices (proactively clarify all charges).
• Lead and manage continuous improvement of operational cost management.
• Support Finance w/ cost recovery within the business to ensure it is accurate; timely
• Support Finance with external (Government and JV partners) reporting and audits
Project Portfolio Management
• Provide guidance, support, and mentoring to Project Managers, Supplier Leads and BIMs on financial standards, methods, templates, processes and best practices throughout the Program/Region.
• Provide Project Portfolio analyst function using project management tool (Planview) and providing regular updated Reports
• Work with BIM (Business Information Managers) and PM (Project Managers) for individual project updates
• Review current Project reports & processes - w/view to update as needs arise. Maintains the PMO Sharepoint site
• Interface with Regional PMO and Project Services Team as process and tool changes occur. Provide local site status to Regional PMO
• Review PM investment status reports
• Request investment funding releases (pull form for BIM/PM)
• Provide insight into areas of concern and take action within PMO area where required.
• Consolidate project information as appropriate to enable insight on performance trends, root causes and best practices in resolving these. Bring forward improvement options for review within PMO organization.
• Participate in project reviews, Health Checks, capturing and sharing lessons learned.
• Ensure improvement recommendations from the above reviews are implemented in a timely manner.

Upstream IT&S Additional Support
• Administrator for : Company Alaska Extranet Access, IT&S Sharepoint Site, IT&S OMS Navigator, IT&S Distribution lists,
• Software License Renewals – maintain license database
• Paykey approvals for IT&S (under $10k)
• ProCard holder for IT&S team- Purchase office supplies, catering, copier supplies & maintenance
• Manage IT&S Conference Room schedules
• Organize IT&S LT meetings
• Qtrly updates of LR2 Accountability List

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Finance or accounting degree desired, 3 to 5 years experience in financial reporting and analysis
• Experience with SAP desired
• Very strong analytical and problem solving skills including familiarity with economic analysis, financial decision making and planning.
• Excellent team player, able to build effective working relationships across teams and disciplines.
• Effective communicator, who is able to work with detail and communicate to wider team
• Strong ability to influence people at all levels and challenge traditional thinking.
• Leadership skills, demonstrated in either a formal or informal setting
