The Company:
Our Client is an international Drilling Company with a focus in the MENA area.

The Role:

The role serves as a subject matter expert on the requirements of the SEC, US GAAP, FASB and similar organizations. Analyzes the accounting impact of new rules, business practices, business events and developments, helps coordinate their implementations and assists with development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

- Manage the preparation and review of the Company’s statutory filings, including the 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, earning release and other filings
- Review documented support for all regulatory / SEC filings
- Prepare technical accounting papers to support the Company’s position
- Ensures financial reporting compliance with all new standards and guidance issued by the SEC, FASB, US GAAP and other applicable regulatory agencies
- Prepare investor’s presentations and support investor’s questions
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the company's financial reporting policies and procedures
- Preform periodic impairment testing and document the Company’s position

 Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, FASB standards and SEC regulations.
 Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and trust in all aspects of the job by working continually towards self-development, staying abreast of all current information and technology, and be knowledgeable with FASB & AICPA governing bodies affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance

 Assists, as needed, with the accounting for certain areas that have significant technical accounting ramifications such as share based compensation and retirement benefits plans
 Manage periodic calculations of basic and diluted earnings per share including required EPS disclosures

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Excellent analytical skills with ability to analyze financial statements and provide explanations for unusual fluctuations
 Deadline oriented and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
 Must be detail-oriented
 Leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead, motivate, and provide direction to others
 Ability to handle multiple tasks, including ad hoc projects, while supervising staff
 Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, Hyperion and JD Edward
 Ability to interact with all levels of employees within the Company

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 CPA required
 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
 10 plus years of work experience and at least 5 years in preparing financial statements and SEC reports
 Experience in financial reporting under IFRS would be a plus
 Experience preparing technical papers and answering investors’ questions
 Experience in preparing accounting policies
