The Company:
Our client is a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions for the infrastructure (pipe systems, and power and communication cables), automotive and advanced packaging markets. They have its headquarters in the UAE and Singapore.
Our client is on the way to increase their capacity even further with a multi - billion dollar mega- project. By the end of 2013, they will have added a 3rd Ethane cracker to create the largest Ethane cracker complex in the world.

The Role:
The essential goal of our Fire & Rescue Team is to provide a sustainable service in the work place of Borouge employees at Ruwais Plant by protecting life, property and environment through fire prevention, fire safety education and emergency response with well maintained equipment and highly trained, dedicated personnel.
Reporting to the Fire & Rescue Shift Supervisor, you will be part of Loss Prevention Function team and you will be responsible for:
• Operating all kind of Fire Trucks under emergency and nonemergency conditions, which includes driving, engaging pumps for foam and water, activating powder system and controlling all related technical parameters ensuring operational efficiency and safety of the crew and equipment.
• Operating as a member of a crew in Fire & Rescue interventions involving the use of assigned equipment, in various areas, as instructed by Fire & Rescue Shift Supervisor, this includes laying and connecting hoses, operating nozzles, directing high-pressure water streams, providing all types of fire-fighting foam currents; climbing and working from constructions and ladders and using all equipment associated with the control and extinguishment of fire or other incidents including HAZMAT and rescue.
• Conducting regular trainings & drills on fire-fighting equipment, maintenance, general rescue techniques and standby activities as part of fire crew during work that involves potential fire hazards (e.g. job watch activities).
• Undertaking routine maintenance work on fire-fighting equipment, appliances, tools, vehicles and station premises to ensure that they are operational (including cleaning, repairing, washing, drying, replenishing and testing for both mobile and fixed equipment such as hoses, valves, vehicles, hydrants, hose reels, water spray and sprinkler systems).
• Undertaking other similar or related duties such as maintaining station premises in a clean condition, conducting fire safety checks on premises and facilities, gathering tools and equipment and do the cleaning up after fire-fighting operations.
• Participate in job watch activities, which involve standby and observing all activities carried out by company or contractors’ personnel according to a Permit to Work. Report any cases of incorrect work practices to the Fire & Rescue Shift Supervisor.
• Training regularly on fire-fighting equipment and general rescue techniques including live fire training sessions.
• Following on call duties during off hours as per company policy.
• Acting as a mentor for Fire & Rescue Team trainees.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will be invited to the INTERVIEW DAY from 23 - 24 May at Sofitel Hotel, 17 Le Duan Boulevard, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Fire Fighter Level 2 certificate (acc. to NFPA 1001) or equivalent competency.
• Fire Apparatus Driver-Operator certificate (acc. to NFPA 1002) or equivalent competency.
• Minimum 8 years experience in Fire & Rescue line positions, including 4 years on position as a Fire Truck Operator.
• Very good physical fitness level allows actively participate in emergency response activities and live fire drills.
• Excellent coaching and mentoring skills, with good ability to work effectively in a multinational environment.
• Computer general software user's awareness and experience.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
