The Company:
Our major Oil & Gas Client is in need of a Fixed Assets Analyst for a 1 year assignment.

The Role:
This position is responsible for providing accounting, analysis, oversight and stewardship of key Fixed Assets accounting processes. This includes providing fixed asset accounting support to business, periodic review of fixed assets, fixed asset master data management and setup, monthly close activities, monthly and annual variance analysis and commentary.
This position reports to the Fixed Assets Supervisor.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Provide Fixed Asset Support to business
• Perform Periodic Review of Fixed Assets
• Facilitate and perform creation of and changes to Fixed Assets processes and master data required by business
• Facilitate and perform disposal, retirement and impairment processes for fixed assets
• Receive, review and update Unit of Production information in sub-ledger
• Receive, review and update production information in sub-ledger
• Maintain Exploration Evaluation and Development information in sub-ledger and perform monthly reconciliations with financial and consolidated reporting system.
• Prepare annual OIL statements for annual insurance certification
• Analyze and provide monthly variance commentary for Exploration expenditure
• Analyze and provide monthly variance commentary for Trade Payables and Sundry payables
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Perform relevant activities during closing cycle
• Assist in Business queries and ad-hoc projects
• Ensure compliance with Global accounting policy related to fixed assets
• Responsible for SOX certification of all financial controls and processes owned by fixed asset team

ROLE'S CORE COMPETENCIES:
•Demonstratess and articulates a clear and detailed understanding of fixed assets accounting.
• Has a sound understanding of systems used in fixed asset accounting including sub-ledger
• Undertakes complex data gathering tasks and analysis under supervision
• Possess strong analytical skills including problem solving
• Advance MS Excel skills to be able to work efficiently and effectively using large volumes of data.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business with a strong accounting representation
• CPA preferred but not required
• Five to ten years of professional experience in upstream O&G in area of fixed asset accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, in particular related to fixed assets accounting.
• Demonstrated experience working in an SAP-based (or similar large ERP system) general ledger, business warehouse and consolidation system environment.
• Superior interpersonal skills to handle various customer and stakeholder groups
