The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Main Goals and Objectives

- To provide Powertrain (PT) with product vehicles that meets the required quality standard and specification for car users enabling them to deliver individual and collective project deliverables.
- Generate internal Vehicle usage plan for new projects for Director approval.
- Represent PT at project reviews to justify vehicle numbers.
- Represent PT at Integration Level meetings
- Represent PT at all build Meetings for vehicle updates.
- Integrate with all build phase for all projects to ensure parts are available to update the PT fleet on time.
- Fleet Manager responsible to ensure the processes and policies support all of the above disciplines.
- Develop relationships within all other developing engineering functions to promote a standard way of working.

Responsibilities

Competitor Car Analysis
* Represent PT at competitor car meetings.
* Develop vehicle usage plan for PT with whole vehicle.

New vehicle requirements:
* Develop vehicle plans/numbers set against group benchmark data.
* Monitor and report variation in numbers to original plan.
* Manage functional changes to vehicle numbers with users and whole vehicle.

Vehicle specification
* Develop vehicle specification for each build phase with car users and whole vehicle.
* Obtain and report vehicle functional maturity for all build phases.
* Maintain Vehicle log of build specification & Calibration levels.

Vehicle usage plan: (VUP)
* Develop vehicle usage plan with car users and whole vehicle.
* Update and communicate PT VUP for use within PT.
* Including overnight & weekend use
* Approve all additional requests for usage to avoid clashes.
* Request additional vehicles for PT if required.
* Represent EA at all Fleet (VUP) meetings.

Vehicle build/updates:
* Integrate with all build phase for all projects to ensure parts are available to update the PT fleet on time.
* Negotiating workshop time for one off updates or emergency requirements.
* Manage vehicle concern sheets to conclusion.

Engineering Drive Events:
* Identify vehicles - dependant on vehicle availability.
* Assist to prepare cars to agreed specification.

Skills & Experience

- Experience in a similar role within fleet management and project management would be beneficial.
- Good communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are essential for this role.
- Presentation skills are an important element to the role as is effective planning to ensure deliverables are met on time to budget.

Practical & Technical Knowledge

* A detailed knowledge of current model range is essential.
* In depth knowledge of all supporting business functions is necessary to allow deliverable to be met to the required standard. Typically- Engineering, Purchase, Marketing, Quality and Finance.
* Good understanding of prototype build disciplines.
* Project management skills.
* Understanding of group fleet management processes
* Understanding workshop processes.
