The Role:
- Provide support to the development and execution of the FLNG Turret pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities.

- The incumbent will play a key assurance role in the pre-commissioning and actual commissioning of the Prelude FLNG Turret facility in both the Turret construction yard (Dubai) and also during the integration phase in SHI yard (Korea)

- Assist with the development and monitoring of the Flawless Project Delivery program as it applies to the construction yard in Dubai.

Principal Accountabilities

- Provide support to development of; pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up procedures associated with the FLNG Turret Mooring System

- Provide support to execution of the commissioning and start-up activities. Presence and support during the pre-commissioning in Dubai, commissioning in Korea and startup offshore Australia is required.

- Provide guidance and steer to FLNG EPCI contractor CSU team

- Witnessing of all tests, checks and activities to be carried out by Contractor during pre-commissioning and commissioning and start up and operation of all permanent facilities required to reach system-RFSU and facility RFSU as per the FEED Specification Commissioning Check List in close cooperation with the CSU discipline engineers. This shall include FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests)

- Active participation with Company Construction team punch listing activities and system exception list

- Active support for the Construction Team will be required with respect to arranging for inspection of vessel internals, pipe fabrication/installation, equipment arriving on site, equipment preservation in order to ensure Contractor compliance with the project quality assurance program which should lead to “clean and tight” construction.

- Maintain the FLNG commissioning monitoring plan integrated with the overall project commissioning plan in line with the project Flawless Project Delivery quality assurance program.

- Manage HSE within area of responsibility including ensuring compliance with regulations, Company HSE Management System elements such as HEMP.

- Provide support to the FLNG FPD Coordinator via visits to the construction yard to verify and report on the status of the implementation of the FPD program

-To develop basic skills and appreciation of the FPD program to better enable the incumbent to participate in the FPD program.

- Interface roles with others, i.e. Weather Vane system engineer during construction/pre-com and subsea team as well as support of subsea commissioning scope"


- Integrated project portfolio 6+ billion USD with a 3.5 MT LNG/LPG/ Condensate annual production.

- Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up of the first of its kind floating LNG facility.

- Complex delivery through multiple project interfaces: Shell Topsides and Subsea Teams, TSC Technip, Single Buoy Mooring (SBM), Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), "

Special Challenges

- Prelude FLNG is an integrated project covering the whole value chain from wells via subsea facilities, via Turret to gas processing systems up to and including ship to ship transfer. The role will require strong interface links between Subsea and Topside systems and CSU activities.

- Prelude Turret will be the largest turret ever built

- Commissioning integration will happen offshore with naturally limited resources and high exposure to delays affecting start-up and cargo ramp-up (hence, needs near perfect preparations).

- Delivery through others requires the candiate to possess strong interpersonal and influence skills

- Frequent travel to Turret engineering centre in Monaco and construction yard in Dubai required ahead of relocation to Korea

- During final construction/pre-com phase an extended period (+/- 3 months) in the Dubai yard will be required."

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Ten to fifteen years experience in Oil & Gas Operations/Projects Commissioning & Start-up activities

- Proven Offshore / FPSO / Turret mooring system operating or commissioning / start-up experience

- Incumbent needs to be a team player able to achieve results through others, self propelling

- A sound background in FPSO and Gas Processing operations would be advantageous

- Excellent interpersonal & influencing skills, coaching staff in multicultural environments

- International experience working within multicultural organizations is preferred"
