The Company:
Our client is an established consultancy providing products, systems and services to the Oil & Gas industry on a global scale to bring discoveries into production and maximise the recovery from each petroleum field.

The Role:

• Undertake in-house CFD activities of the company on projects and R&D; co-ordinate CFD applications when these are undertaken by third parties and liaise appropriately and effectively with colleagues on objectives, input parameters and results.

• Contribute to the development and upkeep of standardised procedure documentation for the application of CFD by third parties appointed by the Company to undertake projects on behalf of the business.

• Post process CFD results (from simulations performed in house or by a 3rd party) and compile detailed engineering reports for client submission.

• Undertake high level Process reviews liaising closely with the Process Team.

• Assist with Physical Modelling activities and prepare reports in conjunction with the Project Manager/Engineer and with close liaison with the Flow Lab.

• Undertake when required some project engineering activities, including support with design tasks, preparation of documentation, implementation of the company QA policy and liaison with 3rd party personnel/organisations as appropriate.

• Maintain a high standard of document/software control in line with Company QA requirements.

• Visit 3rd party organisations as appropriate to ensure effective communication and progress of specific objectives on projects that are the responsibility of the Process Team.

• Attend meetings at client’s premises to discuss and present Company solutions and technology.

• Assist in the costing of CFD and other technical input during the tendering stage and participate in the promotion of the Company as required.

• Participate in R&D projects and liaise with Company personnel on test parameters and results from CFD analyses, Physical Modelling studies and other projects, including visits to various facilities as appropriate.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Relevant Engineering Degree

• Minimum 2 year’s industry experience in the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

• Experience with Star-CCM+ is preferable, although candidates with experience in other commercially available CFD code will be considered

• Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English

• Willingness to travel including visiting clients in UK and internationally. Travelling to regional offices around the world will also be necessary

• Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving

• Good at working independently or as part of a team

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Preferably some oil and gas experience
