The Role:
• Maintain awareness of, and promote, project goals in respect of HS&E, QA, schedule and technical integrity, including participation in regular audit activities
• Ensuring that Shipyard QHSE standards are maintained, monitored and make suggestions for improvement in accordance with Client's expectations
• Implementation and monitoring of the shipbuilding contract, monitoring and reporting of any deviations that may risk the project delivery in respect of FMECA/FMEA requirements
• Ensuring that the shipyard project execution plan is implemented and monitored and make suggestions for improvement, including regular reviews to ensure suitability were applicable
• Ensuring the successful FMECA/FMEA completion of the SCV in accordance with the Client's schedules in readiness for the execution of the project SCV SoW.
• Monitoring the results and progress of the activities and reports of the site (discipline) manager(s)/inspectors
• Making it a priority to maintain a good working relationship with the Shipyard and Contractor project and senior management members
• Reporting the results of site team members on a regular basis to the Client Build Manager, SCV Manager and Team Leads
• Responsible for liaising the FMECA/FMEA tests & proving trials (harbour & sea), final acceptance of the industrial FMEA from the builder to SCV Build Project Manager.
• To play a key role in directing the Yard teams to develop the FMECA/FMEA procedures and associated workshops (HAZIDS).
• To play a key role in liaising with the Yard teams to monitor the scheduling of FMECA/FMEA procedures and adjust as required, in order to maintain the delivery date.
• To manage and supervise the Client build team during FMEA proving tirals/tests of all systems as listed by the Yard and agreed with Owner.
• To work closely with the existing Owner teams and personnel to provide subject-matter expert advice and leadership.
• On behalf of the SCV Build team, Lead and direct all commissioning activities for the project including lead staff responsible for and directing all commissioning activities whilst conducting the FMEA proving trials and tests.
• Ensure best practices by input to and implementing FMEA procedures.
• Ensure FMEA testing is carried-out fully and accurately recorded and signed-off by all parties, including Class, Flag State and any other bodies as maybe required.
• Provide input on as-built drawings and documentation preparation along with management documentation.
• To be involved and participate in vendor supplier and/or subcontractor meetings to resolve outstanding issues.
• Establishing and maintaining regular contact with the Shipyards Project Managers and other representatives as required
• Attend weekly/daily project commissioning/FMEA meetings on site in which all project testing aspects will be discussed and minutes of and attendee list will be distributed by BSY
• Monitoring and reporting on the main commissioning schedule
• Assisting in the preparation and execution of contingency recovery plan(s) in the event of schedule slippage
• Monitoring and reporting whether FMEA tests/proving trials & inspections are carried out properly and according to Class/Company/Contract standards
• Monitoring and reporting compliance with the main specification, drawings, QHSE guidelines and Classification Society rules and regulations.
• Preparing detailed project progress reports at regular intervals and distributing them to project relevant Client management as required
• Cooperating closely with the HSE inspector, site project engineer and inspectors
• Work in conjunction with the Contracts Lead to ensure strict adherence to the vessel build contract
• Making regular inspections of the worksite to verify reports/actual progress and to lead HSE expectations
• Provide support during the transition period to the contractor and additionally provide technical support during operations.
• Taking a leading role in managing and monitoring the members of the site team on all relevant social, ethical and work related aspects
• Ensure that the work and social ethics on all aspects of the project adhere to the Client and internationally accepted standards

• Ensure completion of detailed FMECA/FMEA documentation, procedures and workshops
• Deliver review of BSY FMECA/FMEA procedures
• Ensure FMEA methodology is executable
• Maintain Management of no change policy
• Ensure safe testing of major impact equipment
• Maintain SCV schedule in accordance with contract and requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of the generation and application of the FMECA/FMEA processes
• Experience of DP vessel upgrades including variable speed drive propulsion
• Preferred Marine electrical background with Engineering Diploma
• Familiarity with FMEA trials to IMCA and Class (DNV preferred)
• Track record in safety leadership
• Excellent Communication skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
