The Role:
** Please note this position is for those who can fluently speak in Korean Language to supervise Sub-con workers and HHI employees.

Activities
Respect of fabrication sequence as fabrication drawings (proper parts used in adequacy with identification system)
Adequacy of the product with construction drawings (no missing parts, correct alignments, no unforeseen stress concentration areas, etc...)
Proper use of structural steel material (grad, thickness)
Detection of steel plates defects (shelling, roll over, pits and craters, lamination grooves, indentation, etc... in accordance with P3 grade)
Control of dimensions within the project tolerances at any step of the fabrication (Plates, pre-assembly, blocks, distance between supports...)
Detection of any non recorded repair
Fairing and strengthening performed with respect of the project procedure
Bevel preparation is in adequacy with the designed weld details

And more generally:
To report of ongoing activities he is in charge to follow-up (Construction reports, Prepare non conformity reports)
To ensure that, for his discipline, the quality assurance record books are properly documented and maintained by the Hull CTR
To report on any inspection-related problems encountered in his discipline, to the FPU Hull structural supervisor and Hull Naval Architect Leader.
To assess any deviations from quality control procedures or requirements requested by the Hull CTR, and make appropriate recommendations to the FPU hull structural supervisor and the Hull Naval Architect leader.
Liaise with other inspectors the possible concerns needing to be further checked (e.g. by NDE Inspectors)
Liaise with other disciplines (piping, elec, outfitting, welding) for consistency of the construction coordination
Liaise with other inspectors from (BV) regarding issues related to compliance with rules and regulations

In above, Hull CR is to be understood as the Hull Contractor, and any of hull contractor subcontractors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Description
CSWIP 3.2 Senior welding Inspector, PCN Level 3 Senior welding inspector, Senior CWI, or EN 473 equivalent or similar Internationally recognised certification.
Knowledge of all applicable standard (GS EP STR, BV, IACS, API and AWS)
Be familiar with stiffened panels structures as well as with tubular structures.
Familiar with the Yard practices (Construction drawing, shop drawing NDE map and weld map)
Experience in his specialisation of at least 5 years experience, including at least 2 years in the context of offshore projects.
An experience in design office as structural engineer or equivalent would be valuable.
Fluency in English (speaking and writing), communication and reporting skills.
Comprehensive knowledge in structure, welding, material, corrosion and NDE.
Be skilled in using computer programs for word processing, spread sheets and e-mail communications.
