Our client is a leading global oil and gas operating company.

The Role:
Role synopsis The Fuel Specialist is an agency staff position reporting to the Fuels Distribution Team Lead and has responsibility for supporting fuel data collection, analysis, and reporting across Company operations on the North Slope including Greater Prudhoe Bay, Milne Point, Endicott, North Star, Badami, and Liberty. As the central point of contact for North Slope fuel data and reporting the Fuel Specialist will work closely with other fuel distribution team members and regularly communicate with fuel consumers, contractors, and accounting and regulatory positions.

Core functions are centered around data management of the fuel supply chain and distribution on the North Slope – receipt, transfer, storage, distribution, and consumption – with the focus on accurate data entry, analysis, and reporting on a daily basis.

The Fuel Specialist on a daily basis monitors and interacts with fuel distribution team members operating the FleetConnect automated fuel system and uses the FleetFocus system to enter and manage fuel data.

A key responsibility is accurate fuel reporting for accounting and regulatory purposes which includes consumption by cost center, off-road consumption for tax accounting, Greenhouse Gas reporting, and emissions tracking for EPA air permits.

Key accountabilities • Central point of contact on the North Slope for all fuel distribution logs, records and reports.
• Daily enters all manual fuel distribution log data into FleetFocus; the system used for fuel management.
• Daily processes all exception reports to resolve data quality issues.
• Diligent and persistent with all fuel distribution contractors to ensure that daily fuel logs are received and that they are correct and complete.
• Analyzes all fuel transfers to ensure that all fuel issued by Company is accounted for on distribution contractors daily fuel logs.
• Responsible for supplying necessary fuel data reports to accounting, supply chain, and others for correct fuel accounting and charges.
• Prepares all EPA Greenhouse Gas Reports.
• Prepares all EPA recordkeeping reports including tank reconciliation.
• Supplies reports to applicable Tax persons for ULSD fuels highway tax rebate.
• Supplies historical monthly consumption reports for preparing future monthly nominations.
• Respond to requests from fuel consumers and managers for information and reports.
• Perform inventory verification and monthly reconciliation.
• Creating business reports and presentations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Essential Education • High School Diploma

Essential experience and job requirements • 5+ years of work experience in the fields of fuel distribution, fleet management, logistics, supply chain management, or transportation.
• 3+ years experience working with external contractors and suppliers.
• Experience working on the North Slope.
• Business and information technology work experience.
Other essential skills and knowledge • Ability to professionally interact with others at all levels across the organization
• Detail Oriented and experienced in data entry
• Ability to write clear descriptions of business procedures and requirements in English
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel for analysis
• Experience with database reporting tools (e.g. Crystal Reports)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Desirable criteria & qualifications • Bachelors degree in either accounting or a technical field
• Working experience in an E&P industry.

Travel required Yes - North Slope based with travel to North Star Island, Badami, Endicott, Milne Point and Greater Prudhoe Bay. Future intent will be to shift the position to Anchorage when new systems and processes are stable.
