The Company:
Our client is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
You will be responsible for providing the theoretical and practical capability to be aware of and to understand in detail the latest developments in Vehicle Fuel Systems and to select and to engineer appropriate systems and components into products.

The Fuel System incorporates all components and functions from the filler cap through to the fuel rail e.g. Refuelling (filler pipe), Containment (fuel tank), Delivery (pumps & lines), Venting system (ROV’s FLVV’s), Emission control (purge canister), OBD, Gauging, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for design of Fuel System components & system which, when introduced into production, are safe, legal and otherwise fit for purpose, (including satisfying product liability requirements) and represents the best fit between company and customer needs.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining technical knowledge/capability.
• Responsible for defining and planning own work for approval by Senior Engineer.
• Accountable for planning, monitoring and expediting all test, validation and certification of systems/components.
• Accountable for timely parts release and engineering changes for prototype build and production, and for timely delivery of all Product Engineering activities required to achieve timely vehicle launch to quality and cost
• Use of appropriate development tools e.g. FMEA

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Proven background in delivering Fuel Systems in the automotive or a related industry
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the business

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• A degree in a related Engineering or Scientific subject.
• HND with proven experience will be considered.
