The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
This is a management position responsible for all the generation of UPS (Manufacturing vehicle testing) test to support all model variants, The UPS manager will be directly responsible for the timely delivery of all UPS tests supporting all elements of production test (inc. Sub-assy, Main Line Assy and Dynamic test). They will interface directly with group to understand best practice and share knowledge to incorporate testing discipline and future strategies for testing and the supporting hardware. They will be the main interface for the testing provider ensuring robust interface with Bentley and the testing resident engineers. Alongside the delivery of the testing strategy they will act as technical expert and support the PP manager with respect to project information and reporting. Facilitation of reviews to challenge testing practices and test times to support CMP deliverable also a key element to the role.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Maximum of 5 relating to products, services etc.)

Process Flow (Line/EOL/ Sub Assembly) inc EHPV – Responsible for the identification, development & validation of test sequences (within takt) for all project and Model Year programmes (including CIP activities)
Test Authoring – Responsible for the generation and authoring of test sequences
FAZIT – Responsible for the co-ordination of all group related activities/ updates ensuring system knowledge to allow for updates to FAZIT servers/ UPS connections, MySQL inc. ping/pong/pang, FAZIT online system, development of alignment rigs, checking power class & dummy VIN’s. Act as deputy for Anti-Theft Steering Group
General Operation/Core System Architecture inc IT inc interfaces – Understands how all systems interact and their architecture including Prodis systems, wireless MFT’s UPS server/ architecture, IP addresses etc. Ensuring the interfaces to FIS channels, online FIS channels, WAM, Rolling Road, Fluid Fill, ICS are supported.

Group Interface Responsible for liaising with group & the test provider to ensure all financial agreements and planning is coordinated with respect to TCD submission and RFQ’s. Responsible for the tracking of delivery to customer and to financial plan/ targets

(such as sales volumes, production volume, number of bought parts etc.)

Delivery of all Product Plan Projects in line with Bentley PEP across all Bentley Product lines (BY62x, BY73x)

Deputy for PP – Electrical Mgr
Responsible for delving test sequences & testing hardware for all programmes

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise at all levels within the business.
Experience in facilitating cross-functional teams within automotive manufacturing or design environment.
Excellent ability to analyse and resolve complex problems,
Motivating others through influence and direct management.
Experience of UPS systems including FAZIT.
Good general working knowledge of part design, manufacture and assembly within complex systems.
Good working knowledge of FIS & vehicle scheduling systems
Minimum 5 years experience working in product development within the automotive industry.
Demonstrated commitment to continual personal development.
German Language ability preferable.

Manufacturing feasibility – assessment of concepts to establish feasible Electrical processes and materials.
Process and materials development – Lean principles, PFMEA, APQP, application technology, material development, VW Group standar
