The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
This is a management position responsible for all the generation of UPS (Manufacturing vehicle testing) test to support all model variants, The UPS manager will be directly responsible for the timely delivery of all UPS tests supporting all elements of production test (inc. Sub-assy, Main Line, Test Field and CPB). They will interface directly with Group to understand best practice and share knowledge to incorporate testing discipline and future strategies for testing and the supporting hardware supplier ensuring robust interface with company and resident engineers. Alongside the delivery of the testing strategy they will act as technical expert and support the PP manager with respect to project information and reporting. Facilitation of reviews to challenge testing practices and test times to support CMP deliverable also a key element to the role. This key role carries the responsibility of ensuring production can process vehicles to takt and quality.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Test sequence process flow inc takt improvements - Responsible for the identification, development and validation of all UPS test sequence for related project and Model Year programmes (including CIP activities). Key delivery of Pre Series testing abilities and suitable hardware and software installations

Test Authoring - Responsible for the generation and authoring of test sequences to deliver vehicle launch and series support architecture change and process improvement

FAZIT - Responsible for the co-ordination of all group related activities/updates ensuring system knowledge to allow for updates to FAZIT serves/UPS connections, MySQL inc. ping/pong/pang, FAZIT online system, development of alignment rigs, checking power class and dummy VIN's. Act as deputy for Anti-Theft Steering Group

General Operation/Core System Architecture inc IT inc interfaces - Resposible for all test system interaction and their architecture including Prodis systems, wireless MFTs UPS server/architecture, IP addresses etc. Ensuring the interfaces to FIS channels, online FIS channels, WAM, Rolling Road, Fluid Fill, ICS. Maintenance, process improvement and updates and delivered for the life of the platform.


QUALIFICATIONS

Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with practical experience of all VW Group SWVM related systems and company Production Control Systems


PRACTICAL AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

Manufacturing feasibility - assessment of concepts to establish feasible Electrical processes and materials
Process and materials development - Lean principles, PFMEA, APQP, application technology, material development, Group standards
Good working knowledge of all company/Group dependant systems
Ability to understand ECU ZDC data coding and configuration
Appreciation of company systems 'pipeline' linking DL24 into production systems
