The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
- Work closely with and supporting the activities of the SLCC manager
- Undertake functional safety assessments
- Deliver functional safety based training courses, write technical papers and deliver specialist technical presentations
- Provide specialist technical support to safety system project teams
- Undertake business development activities to identify and win opportunities for functional safety consultancy work both within company and externally

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Chartered status or equivalent graduate qualified engineer
- TUV FS Engineer or CFSE status by examination
- Experience of the key issues relating to the professional application of functional safety within an operational engineering environment
- Sufficient market experience to be able to demonstrate an understanding of the relationships between end users, EPC’s and systems integrators
- Significant engineering and design experience of control and safety systems preferably from within the oil, gas and petrochemical industries
- A working knowledge of FS standards, and experience of applying the details of the standard
- Experience of carrying out functional safety assessment
