The Company:
Our client is a focused supplier of consultancy, engineering and project management services to its customers in the world's oil and gas, mining, clean energy, environment and infrastructure markets. Our client designs, delivers and maintains strategic and complex assets and employs over 27,000 people in around 40 countries worldwide. They are recruiting for Gas Operations Officer to cover the South Wales/South West area.

The Role:
The Gas Operations Officer will ensure all works are carried out safely and to required standards

To ensure all works are carried out and recorded in compliance with WW/PM/AR/3 (formerly SEI33)

To oversee all engineering and construction activities

The Gas Operations Officer will complete mains proforma weekly and pass to Measurement Engineer

Complete service performa/tracksheets daily for relays, transfers and transfers after relay

The Gas Operations Officer will complete a weekly batch header to determine subcontractor payments, direct labour bonus, contra charges and recharges and pass to the administration department

Attend planning meetings to ensure effective delivery of the construction programme

Ensure construction activities are planned and undertaken in the most beneficial, safe and cost effective way in keeping with the ethos of the contract

The Gas Operations Officer will regularly visit teams and carry out audits as and when required (QMS)

Ensure tool box talks and team inductions are carried out as required

They will liaise closely with the Reinstatement Officer to ensure works are reinstated quickly and efficiently with minimum impact to the general public

Liaise closely with the Local Authorities to ensure compliance with NRSWA and TMA requirements and comply wherever practical to special Local Authority requests

Support WWU’s customer service strategy and handle customer complaints within the agreed standards of service as and when they arise

Work within and promote the philosophy of team working and development across all activities to achieve business objectives and improved performance

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The Gas Operations Officer will have a suitable technical/professional qualification such as SCO1, 2, 5. NVQ Gas Engineering and Management level 4 or equivalent, NRSWA Supervision

Ideally be an approved Authorising Engineer or working towards it

Relevant Engineering, Operational or Professional services e.g. distribution/health/safety/environment

Extensive experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of MOBs Bridge Crossings and Welding procedures would be desirable
