The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This is a key role within the Gauging department of Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering. PTME are responsible for the global delivery of all aspects of Powertrain Manufacturing facilities, from completely new facilities, to the future retooling of existing facilities. Reporting to the Tooling and Gauging Manager and working closely with the machining process engineers, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the gauging requirements for powertrain manufacturing projects, worldwide, from initial concept to handover of a capable facility to manufacturing plant staff post Job 1. As a project progresses through the planning phases, you will also work with current manufacturing engineering at all levels to ensure their operational and quality requirements are met or exceeded.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Main responsibilities include (but are not limited to):- Specify and deliver the measuring equipment, CMM, and Calibration facilities for Engine Plants to meet the project quality and timing requirements; Define and develop the measuring and gauging strategies to ensure quality and productivity targets are met or exceeded; Perform Measuring Systems Analysis on new and existing equipment. Develop and refine Bills of Process for measuring and gauging to develop global standard operating practices; Develop and refine Departmental Standards, Work Instructions and Procedures in line with the business quality system; Creation of technical specifications and tender documentation; Analyse vendor proposals to select suppliers and solutions that meet or exceed the business requirements. Experience and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 or BS8888, preferably in an automotive manufacturing context. - Highly motivated, able to work on their own and a

Support new programme development with cost, specification and timing estimates as required. Assist creation of budgets, and the management of project costs and spend; Liaise with suppliers in all aspects of a project from specification and procurement of equipment through to commissioning and capability at the vendor's facility and at the intended final production facility; Input to the factory layout with the design of measuring facilities giving due consideration to lean principles; Analyse vendor proposals to enable supplier selection and identify solutions that meet or exceed the business requirements; Assist process and tooling engineers with the analysis of component part print GD&T to develop and deliver robust manufacturing processes; Work with quality and process engineers to ensure measuring and calibration strategy and methodology is robust, supports the required production volumes and quality metrics, and maintains the correct balance of machining over measuring times, the
