Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their LNG mega-project in Western Canada.
This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
Reporting to the Plant Delivery Manager for Utilities Power and Steam who will also be located in the EPC contractor's Calgary office, the GE PROJECT ENGINEER will be part of a multi-functional Execution team. Position will be based in the EPC contractor's Calgary office which is responsible for delivery of the LNG plant utilities and OSBL scope.
Position is responsible for coordinating multi-discipline execution related review of the EPC contractor's GE package equipment design deliverables for the facility utilities scope and works with Engineering and Execution teams to ensure compliance with project requirements including codes, standards, specifications and constructability.
This support includes construction execution planning, review of engineering deliverables, review and optimization of current FEED modularization plans, provide input into development of schedule, manpower forecasts, constructability, productivity initiatives and workface planning, progress measurement and site procedures.
Additionally, position will support contracting process for SCM Contracting Services in contractor qualification, and SOW development. In phase 4 position will mobilize to site with responsibility for the GE Package related to Utilities, Power and Steam facilities from contractor mobilisation through systems completion and turn-over to Operations.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Project Experience: - Major capital project international construction experience, including fabrication and installation of onshore Buildings and Infrastructure, cost estimating and scheduling.
Gas Turbine/Compressor design, construction and completions experience desired.
Gas Turbine Control System and SIS design, construction and completions experience desired.
HRSG design, construction and completions experience desired.
Experience working on a team at Construction Sites with logistics from international locations desired.
Demonstrated experience working with a design contractors office during FEED / detailed design
Experience working with a design contractors office during FEED / detailed design
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
BS preferred or equivalent experience; BSc (UK)
Critical Technical Skills In-depth knowledge of: - Project Completion standards, Canadian and Chevron specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
Facilities engineering, Construction, commissioning and systems completions.
College / University Engineering degree and/or technical diploma
Twelve plus (12+) years of Projects and Construction with some working knowledge of Operations experience with direct “hands on” experience in international work being required.
Previous successful construction engineering role during Project Management and Construction execution. - Demonstrated exposure to design and construction Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Must work effectively as a project representative within a multi-discipline work team located in a remote design contractor's office.
Good interface skills between contractor(s), project team, and specialists.
